Eid mubarak. There’s a mosque about a block away from my flat here in north London so I decided to go there for Eid prayers this morning. It’s a nice place, one big prayer room, expansive and ornately decorated, divided in half down the middle by a semi-opaque white barrier. The kiblah is towards a [...] I’m not sure if it’s possible to have a good time on a cold, rainy, windy London night when you never actually get into the clubs you try to hit. But I somewhat had a decent time on what would be called a busted night. I took a leap last night and down to Elephant [...] I think there´s more of a punk sensibility here in London than back in the States. Not that Pgh isn´t devoid of alterna-life but I think you´re more likely to see it out on the streets here. I´ve seen numerous people in sober looking business casual outfits, presumably going to work, with spiked-up punk hair. [...] It seems that most international travel originating in the US or Europe is intended primarily for going to… the US or the rest of Europe.
