Rocketman

I never get tired of take-off. In 5 years of steady and sometimes mind-numbing travel at Cerner, I got tired many things about the vagabond lifestyle. I got tired waking up at 4:00 AM on Mondays, getting home too late on Thursday, living out of a suitcase, surprised friends when I turned up at the local club, greasy takeout, travel delays and not having any sense of permanence. But I never got tired of take-off.

It’s still exhilarating. There’s something about leaving the ground, un-tethering yourself from the world. No phones, no email, no internet. Oh sure that’s changing but for now, it’s the only way to truly unplug.

A little sun. A little clouds. A little air. Life just seems a lot simpler at 30,000 feet.
